Synopsis
Dr. Deborah Mollison will investigate the journey needed to become a film composer and events on the way. Where does inspiration come from? How is it manifest? Deborah will examine how her own career took shape, the influences she has encountered along the way and how her work as a composer has evolved. In the masterclass, she will discuss the impact of musical processes and techniques used in film composition, with regards to the language of film music in general and in her own film compositions.
Deborah will also examine the impact of musical processes and techniques in film: real or synthesised. She will look at her own work with a view on real or synthesised, in terms of instrumentation choices and in terms of the production of musical ideas for the score.
