Since 2009, an ambitious slate of film initiatives have been created under Palmer’s aegis, supporting H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani’s vision of year-round film education, appreciation, film financing, production and the development of a sustainable film industry in Qatar.

Palmer oversees the strategic and creative mandate for DFI; the delivery of the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF); and development of DFI’s film financing division, which has thus far supported 60 regional films and Qatar’s first international co-production – “Black Gold”.

Palmer’s illustrious broadcasting career included positions at CNN, the Associated Press Television Network and Al Jazeera English, where she served as Head of Entertainment, created and presented the award-nominated cultural series “48”and the acclaimed international film program, “The Fabulous Picture Show” which broadcasts to 180 milion people.
