Synopsis
'Radiance' is a short, semi-autobiographical animation that uses an exquisite, almost otherworldly hand-drawn style. The story centres around a very young girl who is coping with the loss of her much-beloved grandmother. Deep in thought, she begins to recall fond memories of her grandma, which transports her on an enchanting journey of self-realisation, leading her to ultimately find a sense of contentment and peace through acceptance of her grief.
About the Directors
Chialing Yang is a motion graphics artist and animator with extensive experience in design and art direction. She received her BFA in Graphic Design (2012) and her MFA in Computer Art (2017) with a concentration in motion graphics from the School of Visual Arts, New York City. Since 2010, she has been working commercially in graphic, motion, and interface design as well as illustration, branding, typography and animation.
