Synopsis

After he is expelled from film school, Shadi moves back in with his parents in their Bedouin village. Shadi got kicked out due to recurring panic attacks that made him ditch his classes altogether, a thing he hides from his family. They think he is on a break and has briefly returned to live with them. While Shadi was away, his motivated mother, Amal, opened a guesthouse in a residential unit under their home. All she cares about is making her business a success. Shadi’s return to his parents’ house means more than confronting his own shame and secrets—it is now a place where he must face different curious strangers coming to his home to explore historic Occupied Palestine.
Shadi finds himself involved with his mother’s business alongside the rest of his family members—his uptight brother Nabil, his irritating yet very charming eldest sister Yara and their father Ashraf, who hates that tourists are coming into his house, but always tries to avoid conflict. In each episode, we meet new guests who come into the family’s home with their preconceived expectations and opinions about Palestine. Not only does the family leave an impact on the guests, but the guests also impact the family and put their dynamics and unity to the test.
