Synopsis

“Valioallah and Dorna, nearing the end of their nomadic lifestyle in southern Iran, face growing resistance from their sons, who favour city life. A sheep theft ignites a family dispute over traditional versus modern ways. Sassan, the eldest son, laments their way of life, insisting he sees no future in it. He pleads with his parents to abandon their nomadic existence and settle in the city, like so many other nomads. Valioallah and Dorna refuse.

As spring approaches, the nomads prepare to migrate, but urban expansion blocks their traditional migration routes. After a tragic accident involving sheep, Sassan takes charge, organising a migration through city streets to avoid the dangerous highways. However, the plan goes awry—the family loses their way, and the herd scatters throughout the city. In a dreamlike scene, animals find refuge in unexpected urban spaces, like monuments and commercial areas.
