الملخص
“In the remote town of Tarfaya, Morocco, a mysterious epidemic emerges, causing residents to fall into an inexplicable deep sleep. The illness defies medical understanding, placing Meryem, a brilliant but isolated 40-year-old doctor, at the centre of the crisis. As tensions escalate at the hospital, Meryem navigates personal struggles, including her complicated relationship with Adel, a younger doctor torn between staying in Tarfaya and pursuing opportunities in Casablanca. The disease presents with symptoms such as coughing, fever, and vivid dreams shared among patients, creating a surreal and profound connection.
As the epidemic spreads, the government isolates patients in desert camps, but treatment efforts fail, and the origins of the disease remain unknown. Partnering with Adel, Meryem explores unconventional approaches to combat the illness. However, when Adel begins showing symptoms, the stakes become deeply personal for Meryem. When the military orders the closure of the camps and similar cases arise globally, Meryem’s world begins to collapse. In a final dream-like encounter, she receives a message of hope from Adel, urging her to persevere.
