Synopsis
Nick Broomfield’s quest for the real Sarah Palin involves battling the icy snows of Alaska in mid-winter as he interviews the friends, family, and Republican colleagues who gave their heart, soul and belief, to the charismatic ex-hockey mum-turned-American politician. But it’s not all clear sailing. People are frightened to talk in the devout evangelical community of Wasilla, which is strangely also the crystal meth capital of Alaska.
About the Directors
London-born Nick Broomfield studied law at Cardiff University and then attended England’s National Film School. His documentaries include “Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam”, “Kurt and Courtney”, “Biggie and Tupac” and the dramatic feature, “Battle for Haditha”.
Joan Churchill is a cinematographer, producer and director. She is a UCLA Film School graduate and co-directed the documentaries “Juvenile Liaison”, “Soldier Girls”, “Lily Tomlin” and “Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer”.
