Now the volunteers have come together to be assigned to their individual departments. We joined them on the 9th October 2010 to find out what they had to say for themselves…

In response to insatiable public demand, the online submission form for DTFF 2010 volunteers has just reopened!
To avoid disappointment, hurry over to the volunteer page and resister your interest.

We have so far received over 1,000 submissions from all over Qatar (and some from further afield) – from students and artists to architects and dancers.

On 30th September 2010, over 100 selected volunteers flocked to the Doha InterContinental Hotel for an introduction to the festival world.

DFI spoke to a lucky few to find out just why volunteering for DTFF 2010 is this year’s hottest ticket!

The Volunteers:

Haya Thowfeek

Student, Qatar

Haya is a Carnegie Mellon freshman originally from Sri Lanka. She can’t get enough of DTFF (and Robert De Niro!). She was a volunteer last year and is back again for more.

Usman Malik

IT Engineer, Qatar

Usman lives in Doha with his 60-year-old father, which he reassures us is really not easy. He’s excited to meet new people, and gain valuable experience with the industry team at DTFF.

Nasser Saif Al Kobaissi

Student, Qatar

Nasser is a tenacious young man in his final year of high school.

He’s hopeful this year’s festival is bigger and bolder than last year.

Shebib Mohammed

Law Student, Qatar

Shebib will be leaving his law books on the dusty library shelves as he joins us for the festival this year. He’s proud to be a part of DTFF because it’s bringing the international film industry and global cinema to Qatar.

Mohamed Abou Bakr

Engineer, Qatar

Mohamed stumbled across the DTFF volunteer applications page on the DFI website, and he hasn’t looked back since. He thinks it’s going to be an awesome experience, and is ready for the good times in October.

Hameed Al Hajjari

Student, Qatar

Hamed is a student who thinks DTFF 2010 will put Qatar’s name on the international film stage. He went to the festival in 2009, and is ready to volunteer this time around!
