“Harrer, Harrer” is a 7-day storytelling workshop in which participants will work together to tell stories about the recent revolutions in the Middle East. Participants will find their personal connection to these historical events and tell personal stories but fictional stories that will result in 1-minute films in the course of the workshop.
The goal will be to capture the essence of the revolution and communicate human emotions through characters.
During the course of the workshop participants will:
- Learn and discuss storytelling techniques and character development
- Work together to create compelling stories and turn them into 1 minute screenplays
- Produce 1 minute films based on their screenplays (rehearse-shoot-edit), all films will be restricted to a single location
- Act and crew in each other’s films
The films will be uploaded and distributed on a web platform and become part of an international exhibition that will be launched at the 2011 Doha Tribeca Film Festival.
Workshop will be in English and Arabic.

- Beirut (14 June – 20 June): in collaboration with the Lebanese American University
