Synopsis
In Competition
Erato, a mythical mermaid, falls victim to her own curiosity and breaks the ultimate law of the sea. Sentenced to death, she is determined to prove to the Great Poseidon that humans are able to accomplish great things. ‘The Legend’ melds Greek mythology (Erato was the Muse of lyric poetry) with Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Little Mermaid’. Unfolding like an enchanted pop-up book, this lovely, origami-style animated short provides an original rendering of the epic tale of the unification of the United Arab Emirates.
About the Director
An animation aficionado, Hani Kichi is well versed in every aspect of development and production. He has more than 10 years of experience as a 3D visualiser, editor, director, producer and head of production. He is the creative force behind Blink Studio's original entertainment properties.
