Dunia
Made in Qatar
Synopsis
Dishevelled, anxious and short-tempered, Dunia’s mother is on some kind of mission. She drives through the night with the nine-year-old girl in the passenger seat, then pulls off into the woods by the side of the road. After telling Dunia to keep a look out, she grabs a shovel and disappears into the darkness. Alone and bored, the youngster plays with the clothes and make-up she finds in the back of the car, but when a policeman shows up the already strange night becomes a life-or-death struggle in director Amer Jamhour’s debut short.
