Ink (Inkt)
Ajyal Competition, Ajyal at Katara
Synopsis
In this ultrashort animated film, we follow an octopus who is a bit of a neat freak. But sometimes, even though you have so many arms, you still cannot reach what you want! Fast-paced and fun, the film is set perfectly to 'Zorba’s Dance', an instrumental by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. Film connoisseurs might recognise the song from the academy-award winning film ‘Zobra the Greek’ (1964).
About the Directors
Joost van den Bosch and Erik Verkerk serve as directors, creators and production supervisors of their studio, Ka-Ching Cartoons. They have been working together since art academy, and after that, they worked for one year in Ireland at the Cartoon Saloon before returning to the Netherlands to start their own company in 2007. They created the international series, 'The 3D-Machine' for Nintendo and 'George and Paul', a stop-motion TV series. Gradually the studio moved towards longer formats, and recently worked on several feature-length projects as a service studio, or as a complete creative studio, including direction.
