Synopsis
Yousef "Joe" Shaheen abandons his engineering studies in Jordan to pursue his dream of becoming a world-class chef. Against his father's wishes, he goes to culinary school abroad, leaving behind his family, girlfriend Rana Daqqa, and traditional roots. Joe's talent leads him to work under renowned Chef Francis Iblazio at the three-Michelin-starred La Donarumma. Just as his career peaks, he learns of his father's illness and returns home to Jordan, only to find his father, Yahya Shaheen, suffering from Alzheimer's and unable to recognize him. When Iblazio betrays Joe by stealing his restaurant deal in Jordan, Joe finds himself scrambling for both a job and a place in his father's memories.
Joe returns to his first restaurant, Silk Road, which is now run by Rana, who struggles to keep her family's business from being sold by the board. Despite his prestigious background, Joe must start from scratch under blunt, old-school Chef Ramzi, whose methods challenge Joe's Western training. With Iblazio's new establishment threatening Silk Road's survival, Joe and Rana join forces to save the restaurant. Joe discovers that he must combine his modern expertise with the authentic flavours of his homeland and his duty to his family.
