Synopsis

Laila Hasanin, a young Palestinian journalist in the 1980s, is determined to make a name for herself at an Israeli newspaper. She’s learned how to survive in a newsroom where she’s always an outsider—navigating microaggressions, subtle racism, and the unspoken rules of fitting in. But when the murder of an Israeli boy, Danny Katz, leads to the swift arrest of five Palestinian men, everything she thought she knew is called into question.

As Laila investigates, she begins to unravel inconsistencies in the case—forcing her to confront not only the truth behind the crime but also the very system she has spent years trying to succeed in. Torn between protecting her hard-earned position and exposing a deeper injustice, she must decide whether to stay silent or risk everything to uncover the truth.
