Synopsis

Goussam is pregnant and plans to have a clandestine abortion. She is supposed to be helped by her two friends, Cherifa Griffa and Riad, who introduce her to an old alcoholic gynaecologist who recently returned to Algeria after a long exile in Russia. However, Riad’s dachshund, Trump, dies, disrupting Goussam’s plans.

About the Director

Sofia Djama is an Algerian screenwriter and director. After studying literature at the University of Algiers, she transitioned to filmmaking in 2012, adapting her short story into the award-winning short film ‘Mollement Un Samedi Matin’. Her first feature, ‘The Blessed’ (2017), premiered at the Venice Film Festival, earning accolades, including Best Actress for Lyna Khoudri. Sofia has served as a jury member at prestigious festivals, including Venice and Cairo, and is currently in production on ‘Quarter to Thursday’, slated for filming in July 2025.
