Synopsis
With fresh water supplies running low and climate catastrophe worsening each day, the Imperial Government of Bakalawi responds by forming a task force with a highly optimistic name: The Department of Future Vision. The task force is designed to keep citizens from panicking while engaging them in “eco-friendly activities” that curb their water use.
But instead of being staffed with top scientists, engineers, and educators (or even a good therapist or two), it’s made up of overconfident political appointees, overworked civil servants, wildly unqualified “consultants,” and one glaring Nepo Baby. Through failed initiatives, escalating public panic, and poorly timed romantic gestures, The Department of Future Vision’s efforts reveal just how deeply dysfunctional the system really is.
