Synopsis
In a dystopian Korean society fuelled by fear and propaganda, a large wall divides so-called Omegas—mutated humans with fins and fish-like feet—from humans. Exploited as a workforce to clean the oceans, Omegas face constant suppression. One Omega manages to escape, aiming to fulfil a dying father’s wish: to give his daughter, Mia, his fin and have it buried in the ground like a human.
Mia lives disguised among humans in a society where citizens are encouraged daily to report all Omegas to the authorities. The Omega finds Mia working in a dark, eerie fishing store that builds on people’s nostalgia for the sea and fishing. However, a newly recruited government worker, Sujin, influenced by her mother’s strong anti-Omega sentiment, becomes suspicious of Mia’s identity.
