Synopsis

Ze is a timid 17-year-old shaman. He studies hard at school to succeed in the cold, callous society of modern Mongolia while communing with his ancestral spirit to help those in his community. But when Ze encounters Maralaa, his senses are awakened, and another reality manifests.

About the Director

Lkhagvadulam (Dulmaa) Purev-Ochir is a Mongolian scriptwriter and director born in 1989. Her short film 'Mountain Cat' was part of the Official Selection of Cannes 2020. Her first feature-length film 'Ze' is currently in post-production, and her latest short film 'Snow in September', won the Golden Lion for Best Short Film at the Venice Film Festival 2022 (Orizzonti) before winning the IMDB Short Cuts Award for Best Short Film at the Toronto Film Festival 2022 (Short Cuts Program).
