Synopsis
‘Echoes’ is a supernatural drama series where reality is blended with fantasy. Set in contemporary times, the episodes feature an Arab female protagonist whose life takes a terrifying turn as it becomes intertwined with a woman from the past (such as queens, mothers, warriors, children, and widows). These mythical women, often depicted as demons and witches to scare children and control women, return to tell their true stories, breaking free from the depths of the prison that bound their truth. These stories provide a unique window into the past while also ensuring the continuity of Arab women’s stories, reshaping them into modern narratives that resonate with today’s narratives.

About the Director
Marie-Rose Osta is an independent Lebanese scriptwriter and director with a passion for experimenting with storytelling and images. Her latest creation, 'Then Came Dark,' won the Special Jury Award at the 43rd Cairo International Film Festival and was featured in the 40th São Paulo Biennale's Video Brasil section. Currently, she is developing her debut feature film while producing her new short film titled 'Cement Labyrinth,' both part of a diptych exploring the mystery of childhood. Additionally, her paranormal anthology series, 'Echoes,' based on Arabic urban legends, is currently in the development phase.
