Synopsis
Thirty years after an eco-apocalypse, Alia and her husband Elias lead a peaceful life in a restored townhouse in Bethlehem. They spend their days working in the olive groves and sharing quiet moments with their small community. Yet, memories begin to haunt Alia—fragments of a past that no one else seems to recall.

About the Director

Larissa Sansour was born in 1973 in East Jerusalem, Palestine, and studied fine arts in London, New York, and Copenhagen. In her recent works, she uses science fiction to address social and political issues. Sansour is an alumna of Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network. Her films have been shown at international film festivals such as Berlinale, Rotterdam, Guanajuato, Dubai, Bucharest, London, and Locarno. She has received several awards for her films and has worked with actors such as Hiam Abbas, Pooneh Hajimohammadi, and Maisa Abd Elhadi. Sansour received the Film London Jarman Award in 2020. In 2019, Sansour represented Denmark at the 58th Venice Biennale. She has shown her work at Tate Modern, MoMA, Centre Pompidou, Barbican, and Yinchuan MOCA. Recent solo exhibitions include the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester, KINDL in Berlin, Copenhagen Contemporary in Copenhagen, Bluecoat in Liverpool, and Dar El-Nimer in Beirut. Her work has been featured in biennials in Istanbul, Liverpool, Incheon, Busan, and Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Sansour currently lives and works in London, UK.
