Your Guide to Geekend’s Main Stage!
Our Stage Programme at Geekend 2024 is designed to bring together Qatar’s diverse community of gamers, artists, and creative enthusiasts for four days of engaging activities, workshops, and performances.

Featuring a range of competitions, insightful talks, hands-on workshops, and thrilling gaming challenges, this year’s programme promises an immersive and interactive experience for all!

Day 1 | Wednesday, 20 November

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM | Geekend Opening
Start your Geekend journey with an official welcome to this year’s festival.

3:30 PM – 4:00 PM | Geekend Game Jam: Theme Announcement
Kick off the Geekend Game Jam, where the theme is revealed, encouraging developers to create innovative games. Powered by Media City Qatar and SCALE7.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Gaming Challenge: Mono Island Adventures
Presented by Lion’s Den Games, this challenge invites gamers to test their survival skills in an exciting game session.

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Nakama Art Competition | Theme: Cyberpunk Samurai

Rules and regulations:

• Age Group: The competition is open to all artists aged 12 and above.
• Art Style: Both traditional (paper-based) and digital artwork are accepted.
• Artwork Size: All submitted artworks must be A4 (landscape) size.
• Allowed Techniques: Participants can use any coloring technique, whether traditional or digital, as long as the artwork is inspired by the competition theme.
• AI Usage: The use of AI-generated artwork is strictly prohibited. All submissions must be original and manually created by the artist.
• Submission: Artwork must be submitted via email to the following address: nakama.qa@gmail.com, including the artist’s name, phone number, and Instagram account.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Workshop: Create a Pixel Character!
Inspired by gaming icons like Mario and Sonic, this hands-on workshop teaches the basics of pixel art.

8:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Karaoke Night
Enjoy a lively karaoke session where all are welcome to take the stage.

Day 2 | Thursday, 21 November

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Gaming Challenge: Jumbo – Jewel of Realms
Presented by Tawar Games, this session challenges participants to conquer realms in an adventurous game.

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Nakama Talent Show
Participants showcase their unique skills. Three winners will be selected.

Led by Abdelrahman Al-Homaid, this session covers essentials in board game creation, from design to gameplay.

8:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Karaoke Night
Another night of fun and music, welcoming all to perform.

Day 3 | Friday, 22 November

5:00 PM – 11:00 PM | RedBull AAmghessib’s Back-2-Back Finals
The much-anticipated final round of Qatar’s premier FIFA gaming competition, where top gamers face off in an intense showdown.

Day 4 | Saturday, 23 November

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Gaming Challenge: Beyond Solar
Another chance to take on Coregame’s space-themed adventure.

5:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Nakama Versus
Teams of four face off in a series of gaming and trivia challenges. The winning team will be awarded prizes.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Geekend Talk: Game Creation Against All Odds
Hear from local developers about the challenges they face and their resilience in creating games.

8:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Karaoke Night
Wrap up Geekend with one last evening of music and community spirit.

10:00 PM – 10:30 PM | Geekend Game Jam: Winners Announcement
Celebrate the winners of the Geekend Game Jam, Powered by Media City Qatar and SCALE7, as the best developers are recognised.
