Doha gives grants to boost Arab film

The Doha Film Institute announced Saturday (May 14th) a programme to give grants to support 25 Arab filmmakers, Arabian Business reported.
The Institute also called on Arab governments and citizens to help support regional filmmakers, the DFI said in a statement from the Cannes Film Festival.
“DFI’s grants not only support established filmmakers, but in many cases we are providing young emerging talents who struggle to be heard with the financial backing” to get their movies made, said DFI Executive Director Amanda Palmer.
