Qatari talent gets global exposure

In another unprecedented move for international exposure of Qatari talent, regionally applauded singer Fahad Al Kubaisi will perform Black Gold’s opening track, which was recorded with film-music legend, James Horner (Titanic, Troy, Avatar), at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios.
Another of the film’s tracks, a traditional Bedouin song, was recorded by Al Kubaisi with Qatari composer Abdulla Al Mannai.
Al Kubaisi was connected to Horner through the Doha Film Institute (DFI) with a prospect to have his vocals contributed to the film’s soundtrack. However, upon hearing Al Kubaisi’s vocals, Horner offered him the film’s opening track – an opportunity that, Al Kubaisi says, was too good to refuse.
