About the Director

Mohammadreza Eyni is a director, producer, and DP who works independently on socially relevant topics. As the co-founder of Gandom Films Production L.L.C., Mohammadreza has produced and directed international films, such as his co-directing contribution to a feature-length documentary, 'Convergence,' a Netflix Original, which received a 2022 Emmy nomination. A recent Sundance Film Institute grantee, Mohammadreza's co-directed short, 'Our Iranian Lockdown,' featured on the Guardian, was nominated for the IDA Awards. His recent collaboration as a writer and producer on a fiction film has recently been developed at HFPA and Film Independent. Mohammadreza has held various artist talks about the way he merges documentary filmmaking and journalism practice, including at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Mohammadreza's recent documentary feature, 'Cutting Through Rocks,' currently in production, has received support from the Sundance Film Institute, Bertha Foundation, Hot Docs Cross Current Doc Fund, and IDFA, among others. Mohammadreza is a Tribeca (TFI) alumnus and graduated with an MFA in Cinema from the Tehran University of Fine Arts.

Sara Khaki is an Iranian-American documentary director, producer, and editor. A Sundance Film Institute grantee, Sara's co-directed short, 'Our Iranian Lockdown,' featured on the Guardian, was nominated for the 2020 IDA Awards. Sara's co-directing contribution to a Netflix original documentary feature, 'Convergence,' was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2022. Her recent feature film, 'Cutting Through Rocks,' currently in post-production, has received support from Sundance Film Institute, Chicken & Egg Pictures, and Bertha Foundation, among others. Sara graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMBC) with her BFA in Cinematic Arts and from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) with an MFA in Social Documentary Filmmaking. She is the co-founder of Gandom Films Production L.L.C., a U.S.-based company that collaborates with top industry professionals to create socially engaging films. Sara works and resides between Iran and the USA.
