Synopsis
After securing her first catch of the day while crab-hunting with her father and brother, bright-eyed Jawaher proudly shows it to her father. He dismisses her outright but goes on to praise her brother’s haul. Determined to win her father’s approval, Jawaher shrugs off his hurtful reaction and sets out to catch ten crabs. On her quest, she finds herself battling for a catch with Nawaf, a boy who shares her goal.

About the Director
Nouf Al Sulaiti is a Qatari producer and director with a passion for storytelling. She holds a BS in Media Industries and Technologies from Northwestern University. She focuses on stories about female empowerment and her region. Nouf wrote and directed 'Gubgub', a fictional short selected for Qumra 2018, funded by The Film House and Doha Film Institute. 'Gubgub' was officially selected to screen at Austin Film Festival, and the International Filmmaker Festival in London, winning Mohaq Best Short and Abdulaziz Jassim Award for Best Performance at Ajyal Film Festival 2018. She has received grants to produce numerous projects and is currently producing a feature narrative called 'Alterations', a feature short called 'A Simple Cut', and a feature documentary called 'Desert Paws'. Nouf currently works as a creative media specialist at Qatar Foundation, where she produces and directs films about community, research, and education in Qatar.
